Alvarez: Mourinho won't be in Spain next year

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has told Manuel Alvarez, president of the football club his son plays for, that he will not be in Spain next year.

With Premier League side Chelsea and Champions League quarter-finalist Paris Saint-Germain reportedly courting his signature, Mourinho is widely expected to leave his position at the helm of Real Madrid come the end of the season.

The heavily decorated head coach has been involved in high-profile altercations with several of Los Blancos' senior players, including Sergio Ramos and skipper Iker Casillas, over the course of a disappointing La Liga campaign.

Representatives of Mourinho and Real have sought to draw attention away from talk of the Serie A-winning manager's plans for the future, but Canillas president Alvarez told COPE Deportes that Mourinho has already decided to leave Spain.

"Mourinho told us that next year he won't be able to come and give a talk to the coaches because he won't be here," he stated.

The former Porto boss is believed to have established strong ties with Canillas after donating 10,000 Euros to prevent the club from folding in 2011 and often visits to watch his son train or to offer technical advice to Canillas coaching staff.

Alvarez admitted that Mourinho's departure would be a sad day.

"If Mou goes it will be a big loss to Spanish football. I hope Florentino [Perez] sorts it out."

Real are likely to cede their league title to rivals Barcelona, but remain on course for La Decima, or their 10th Champions League trophy, an achievement which would make the 50-year old the first manager to win Europe's premier club tournament three times with different sides.
